To All Enjoying Life:

Today is Thursday, February 29, 2024. But what’s the big deal?

This year, 2024, is a leap year. And today is Leap Day.

It’s a rare day since it occurs every four years. But as a matter of fact, I learned that it occurs almost every four years.

Speaking of fact, I’d like to share one that has always fascinated me, no matter how long I’ve ever known about it.

Because February is the shortest month every year, it gains an extra day at the end. But even so, it’s still the shortest month with every leap year.

And the reason for a leap day almost every four years is so our seasons can stay fixed and balanced. In other words, winter can still be winter in December, and summer can still be summer in June.

If not, we may experience 80° weather in the middle of December and 27° weather in June due to the added time on our calendar. And this is all because of Earth’s orbit around the sun each year.

So now that I’ve shared my fascination with you, there’s one more addition to this letter:
